Crafty Coasters Workshop with Debbie Miller

Celebrate the beauty of fall with a fun and creative evening of crafting! Create your own beautiful coasters using fall-inspired decorative paper napkins and ceramic tiles. Choose from a wonderful selection of seasonal designs, learn Debbie’s easy technique, and make a set of four water- and heat-resistant coasters to take home. All materials are provided.

       About Debbie Miller:

In 2024, after 24 years of an office job in international education, Debbie had the opportunity to leave
her work and focus full-time on crafting. She launched Story Pieces (storypieces.store), which started
with taking illustrations from children’s books and decoupaging them onto reclaimed wood pieces such
as footstools, boxes and vintage PlaySkool block sets. She obtained a lot of the furniture from
Arlington’s Everything is Free list and found creative ways to give these pieces new life.

About a year later, someone from the list was giving away ceramic tiles. Debbie remembered seeing a
craftsperson on a TV show decorating tiles using napkins. She went to YouTube to check out different
techniques, purchased some napkins and started to experiment. Hundreds of coasters later, she has
perfected a method for making beautiful, useful coasters. She is excited to share this fun, practical craft
with all of you.
