HIVE jr Art Classes: Playing Cards Design Workshop

Join us for a workshop that will teach kids about Design for Illustration through creating playing card faces. This class will cover kid-friendly introductions to graphic design principles such as contrast, hierarchy, and shape language, as well as the history of playing card design. Then, using these new strategies, students will conceptualize their own face cards for a hypothetical deck of playing cards. The course will be run by Aviv Hirsch, a lifelong Arlingtonian, artist, and experienced children’s educator, with a background in developing arts workshops for museums. Supplies will be provided, but please send your little ones in comfortable art-friendly clothes and with a water bottle.
