From: 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Course description
Grab your coffee next door at Quebrada and wander over to the charming new space at Maxima Hive for a joyful five-week creative adventure. Together, we’ll explore gorgeous art supplies, playful prompts, and inspiring ways to bring your sketchbook to life.
A sketchbook is a magical place to experiment with materials, try on new styles, and capture the small, beautiful moments of everyday life. Each week I’ll demo art supplies and techniques guaranteed to spark your imagination and light up your creative practice.
In this five-week class—designed to delight both seasoned artists and enthusiastic creatives—we’ll play with watercolor, gouache, colored pencils, a variety of pens, and more. We’ll gather sweet little things to glue into our journals (a coffee receipt, a lovely leaf) and use them as starting points for color, lettering, and storytelling. I’ll show you simple yet gorgeous watercolor techniques, plus some of my favorite vintage-inspired lettering styles.
You absolutely do not need to know how to draw—there are so many delightful ways to decorate a page. My goal is always to make art a joy, whether you’re a total beginner looking to begin a practice or a seasoned artist ready to expand your style.
Come hang out with your coffee, your art supplies, and some good music. Let’s fill your sketchbook with delight.
Materials list will be provided.
