Step away from the screens, slow down, and spend some time creating this fall.
Join Certified Zentangle® Teacher Michelle Broadbent for a relaxing, beginner-friendly introduction to the mindful art of Zentangle®, inspired by the beautiful shapes and patterns of autumn leaves.
During this hands-on workshop, Michelle will guide you through a selection of Zentangle patterns, or “tangles,” and show you how to combine them within a fall leaf design to create a piece that is uniquely yours. The focus is not on drawing perfectly. It is about being present, exploring pattern, quieting your inner critic, and enjoying the simple experience of creating by hand.
No artistic experience is needed. If you can hold a pen, you can participate.
Your registration includes all materials, including high-quality Sakura archival drawing pens and quality artist paper tiles, carefully selected to give you a beautiful introduction to the Zentangle experience. You will leave with your finished fall-inspired artwork, new patterns you can continue using at home, and perhaps a new way to create a little more calm in your day.

Michelle Broadbent is a Certified Zentangle® Teacher who believes creativity can be a powerful way to slow down, quiet the mind, and reconnect with ourselves. She became certified in 2016 after studying with Zentangle founders Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas and has since shared this mindful art method in schools, libraries, corporate settings, creative spaces, and private sessions, including programs at the Woburn and Winchester Public Libraries.
In a world filled with screens, notifications, and constant demands for our attention, Michelle’s classes offer an opportunity to digitally unplug, be present, and enjoy the calming experience of creating by hand. Her welcoming approach encourages students to set perfection aside, quiet their inner critic, and discover that you do not need to consider yourself artistic to experience the joy and mindfulness of creating.
Inspired by nature, the New England coast, and the patterns found in everyday life, Michelle loves creating spaces where people can slow down, explore their creativity, and leave feeling a little more grounded than when they arrived.
