CloseCrafting Your Holiday Side-Hustle: Plan Ahead & Produce Like a Pro
In-person at Maxima HIVE (Arlington)
Wednesday July 29 • 6:00–7:30 PM • for girls aged 9–15 • $60*
Bring: a notebook + your product/service ideas
This 90 minute, in-person workshop helps young creatives, crafters and seasoned entrepreneurs level up for holiday markets by planning ahead—so they can make more, stress less, and sell smarter. We’ll break everything down into do-ahead, do-able steps—the same way real-world pros do (so you can kiss burnout and last-minute panic aside).
Students will leave with a straightforward 4-month countdown plan they can follow for their next holiday market—and reuse anytime they spot another chance to sell, like at a pop-up setting or a display at a retail shop opportunity.
The 4-Month Countdown Checklist we’ll be using is designed to prevent overwhelm by giving young entrepreneurs clear, monthly goals, plus “pick-your-schedule” flexibility. Worksheets will be provided, and include:
Bring your best product ideas + what you’re already good at making
Leave with a clear 4-month prep plan to sell more with less stress
This Class is For You If...
you already have a craft/product idea (or a few!) and know what you’re good at making
you want to feel calm and confident heading into holiday markets
you want to earn more by preparing smarter—not just working harder
We’re not starting from scratch with “how to create a business.” Instead, we’re focusing on what helps you avoid procrastination and overwhelm by turning market prep into small, do-able steps.
If you’d like to learn how to start a handcraft business, from product discovery & development to logo creation, financial literacy & preparing to sell in person, consider signing up for wellgirl’s signature 4-week class “Crafting Your Girl Maker Business” or get on the waitlist by emailing [email protected] or [email protected]
A Note to Parents:
Holiday markets are one of the best real-world learning experiences for young entrepreneurs. This workshop supports students in building these skills:
*Class Registration, Cancellation & Refund Policy
To provide the best experience while keeping our programs sustainable, most classes require a minimum number of participants. Maxima Hive reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a class if the minimum enrollment is not met.
If We Cancel a Class
If Maxima Hive cancels a class, registered participants may choose one of the following:
- A full refund of the original method of payment.
- Store credit for the full registration amount, which may be used toward any purchase at Maxima Gift Center, Maxima Book Center, or any future Maxima Hive class or event.
We encourage participants to choose store credit whenever possible, as credit card processing fees are incurred when payments are processed and again when refunds are issued. Selecting store credit helps us reduce these costs and continue offering quality community programming.
Participant Cancellations
If you cancel your registration before the class or event, an 8% cancellation/restocking fee will be deducted from your refund. This fee helps offset the non-refundable credit card processing and administrative costs associated with your registration.
Instead of a refund, you may choose to receive 100% of your registration fee as store credit, with no cancellation fee deducted. Store credit may be used toward merchandise at Maxima Gift Center or Maxima Book Center, or toward any future Maxima Hive class or event.
Class Rescheduling
If a class is rescheduled, your registration will automatically be transferred to the new date. If you are unable to attend the new date, you may choose either a full refund or store credit.
Thank you for supporting local, small-business programming. Your understanding allows us to continue offering meaningful classes, workshops, and events for our community.
